Designing Innovation for an AI-Ready Architecture Studio
Client | ClarkeHopkinsClarke
Architecture studios don't approach AI the way other industries do. The work spans design, documentation, sustainability, client relationships and operations—so any AI capability program has to speak to all of it, not just one team.
ClarkeHopkinsClarke wanted more than a training day. They wanted their whole studio, from graduates to partners, confident and capable with AI in their practice.

Unicorn Studio Co designed and delivered a firm-wide AI and innovation enablement program, spanning workshops, hackathons, pilot projects, and a bespoke learning platform built specifically for how CHC works.

Anthropic's research into AI usage across industries found that architecture has one of the highest theoretical exposures to AI of any profession.
According to the study, more than 80% of architectural tasks could conceivably be accelerated by AI tools however actual adoption, by contrast, remains low across the design sector.
That gap between what's possible and what's actually being used is exactly where the opportunity sits. ClarkeHopkinsClarke saw the gap early, and chose to close it intentionally—rather than wait for the rest of the industry to catch up.
Unicorn Studio Co designed and delivered a firm-wide AI enablement program.
This wasn't a one-off training day.
It was designed to build authentic, studio-wide AI capability and innovation practices—from graduates to leadership.
We ran AI 101 sessions across the firm, reaching 95% engagement across all teams. These weren't generic overviews, they were built around how architects, designers and operations teams actually work, covering real tools and real workflows in plain, practical language.
Hackathons brought teams together to prototype real AI use cases against real studio problems—from design workflows to client communication to sustainability reporting. The strongest ideas moved into structured pilots, built and tested by the people who'd actually use them.
We built CHC a dedicated AI learning hub featuring studio-specific prompts and tools, developed with teams across design, operations and leadership. Responsible AI practice, aligned with CHC's B-Corp values, was built into every resource and touchpoint from day one.
The result: an architecture studio with AI capability built into its practice—from graduates to leadership, from design to operations—with the tools, training and use cases to keep innovating forward with it.
Not chasing hype. Building capability that lasts.
